OUR SCHOLARSHIP

The CooperAitken James Houghton Memorial Scholarship

We are thrilled and honoured to announce the launch of a new scholarship program designed to support students within our community who aspire to pursue tertiary-level studies in Business.

At CooperAitken, our passion for the community drives us. We thrive on collaborative efforts, mutual support, and witnessing the success of others in our community. It brings us immense pride to see students transition from school to tertiary education, setting the foundation for a career in business. For several years, CooperAitken has welcomed and supported university students, providing employment and work experience opportunities, during and after their business and accounting studies.

Many young talented accountants have joined our team at CooperAitken this way, including the late James Houghton, who tragically passed away a few years ago while working with us full-time.

In honour of James and our commitment to fostering student success in business, we have established The CooperAitken James Houghton Memorial Scholarship. With the blessing of James’ family, this scholarship honours his remarkable life and strong career aspirations in the accounting industry.

Our scholarship will provide financial assistance to two selected students each year, supporting their tertiary-level studies in business, for up to three years.

We are incredibly excited to launch this scholarship in 2025, with applications opening on 1 October 2024.
