2013 Highlights

  • Operating Profit per hectare took a dive down to $1425 (2012 $1681), a 15.2% drop
  • Production per hectare was down to 982kg, a 6.4% drop
  • Operating expenses per kg/MS was up slightly with a 2.8% increase but down slightly on a per hectare basis by 3.5%
  • All major costs decreased except for Feed Costs per cow which increase 6.8%

2012 Highlights

  • Profit per hectare up was up 11% from 2011 -2012 this was achieved through a combination of higher production, increases in  livestock values of $161 per hectare and lower expenses
  • Production per hectare was up 8.9%
  • Milk income only increased $23 per hectare
  • Operating expenses per kg/MS down significantly by 14.2% and 6.5% per hectare now below $2000 at $1898
  • All major costs decreased except for repair and maintenance which increased by 16.3%
  • Interest costs decreased the most by 30%

  • Farm Working expenses saw a big increase of 18%
  • Feed cost rose 33% and fertiliser was up 11% per hectare

  • Operating profit up from 2009 but still not recovered from levels achieved in 2008
  • Feed costs have almost doubled from 2009 to 2010
