Community House Morrinsville

Staff member Colleen Pye is a voluntary Committee Member for Morrinsville Community House.

Back in 2004 former partner Gary Cave retired from the committee and Colleen was asked to take his place.  Unsure what it would involve but keen to keep up the community commitment. Colleen agreed to join and the years have zipped past since.
“I absolutely love it!” says Colleen “The people and families that are helped by the work the Community House does is just incredible and I enjoy every minute of my involvement.”

Morrinsville Community House assists Families in crises whether it be from violence, relationship issues or other factors.  The group also runs the local Donnyvan, cancer groups, parenting sessions and many more activities, training and support sessions to help people through crises and issues.

McKnight’s success in 2010

William and Jo McKnight were placed 3rd at the National Farm Manager of the Year Competition held in Rotorua. There were 12 regions competing for the National title in an extremely close competition. Head judge David Whillans says there was a strong field of finalists demonstrating a high level of excellence on farms.

William and Jo also received the Fonterra merit award for communication and interview. The couple have set plans to achieve their goal of becoming 50/50 sharemilking and will focus towards that this season.
