Senior Accountant / Manager

THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced senior accounting manager to join our team at CooperAitken based in our Morrinsville Office.  The role works closely with a Director and their clients while at the same time managing and mentoring the team completing the work.  You will enjoy establishing effective relationships, passionate about developing the staff working with you while focusing on delivering quality work on time.

The Ideal Applicant will have

  • CA qualified or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 4 years experience working in a medium to large New Zealand Chartered Accountants environment
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand accounting principles and tax law
  • An ability to complete quality work in a timely manner
  • Ability to multitask and flexibility to work on any task given
  • Excellent communication skills including English as a first language or equivalent proficiency

Intermediate or Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced self starter to fill an intermediate or senior accounting role based in our Morrinsville office. This role is designed to complete a wide range of compliance accounting work, research and special work (including but not limited to budgets, cashflows, provisional tax calculations, etc) and other special work as required.

Be a strong team player with the ability to work unsupervised

Wages and Debtors Administrator

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The wages and debtors Administrator is a jointly focused Client service internal role. The wages component includes maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data and providing advice on pay-related information to our clients.

Internally the debtors function is focused on proactively working with our senior team and our directors to create fees/invoices in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

The Ideal Applicant will have

  • NCEA level 3 or equivalent
  • Preferred Relevant Certificate or Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years payroll experience
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Experience in IMS payroll or other equivalent system.
  • Excellent problem solving,  time management and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills
  • Previous invoicing experience and attention to detail and confidentiality,
  • Knowledge of Labour law, conditions of employment, tax legislations related to payroll
  • Experience in working in a team environment

  • 3-5 years working in a Accounts division or Chartered Accountancy practice with appropriate qualifications in either business or accounting.
  • Be a certified user of accounting software such as Xero or MYOB.
  • Experience in using software such as Xero, MYOB, Cash Manager or Banklink as well as payroll software.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Great organisational skills and be a self-starter.
  • Initiative and ability to self-manage.
  • The ability to work well with all types of people and abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
